Studio Progress | Screenprinting on wood
I’ve been making progress in the studio and I’m pleased to share a look at some original prints that I’ve been working on - the first in a new body of original works on wood. I’ve printed on a lot of materials over the years, but it’s been a while since I last screenprinted on wood.
It's been great to be printing on wood again, I'm really enjoying it. I've mixed ink and pigments in tones that convey serene and calming environments, and I love how the woodgrain comes through the ink on the background and how the ink and image sits on the grain.
A tribute to the beauty and simplicity of nature in material and form
The natural weathering from the elements that turns wood a silver/grey has inspired the first pieces.
I hope you've enjoyed these studio snapshots, and I look forward to sharing more of these originals on wood and other developments with you soon.
